A balanced plate is all about including the major food groups in the right portions and ensuring you try different foods to increase variety.
We recommend you:
- Fill half your plate with vegetables.
- One quarter carbohydrates which are found in rice, pasta, bread, lentils, beans, potatoes, bananas and more!
- Fill the last quarter of your plate with a food that contains protein. Try lean meats, chicken, fish, eggs, tofu or lentils and legumes such as chickpeas or black beans.
